Complete Thermoforming and Sheet Extrusion Production Line
Turn PP, PS or PET raw material into food containers, takeaway boxes, trays, lids and clamshell packaging with a matched sheet extrusion line, three-station thermoforming machine, custom mold and project-specific auxiliary equipment.
What Can This Production Line Make?
- Food containers, takeaway boxes and lunch boxes
- Fruit boxes, clamshell packaging and transparent trays
- Food trays, lids, bowls and bakery trays
- Egg trays, seedling trays and selected custom packaging
PP, PS and PET Sheet Direction
- PP for tough, heat-resistant food containers, bowls, lids and trays
- PS or HIPS for thermoformed cups, trays, lids and packaging sheet
- PET for clear food boxes, fruit packaging and transparent trays
- PLA, PVC or other thermoformable sheet only after product and machine compatibility are confirmed
How the Complete Thermoforming Line Works
1. Raw Material and Sheet Extrusion
The sheet extrusion line converts the selected plastic raw material into controlled sheet. Screw, die, cooling, calendering, thickness and winding must match the downstream product and forming process.
2. Sheet Feeding and Heating
The thermoforming machine feeds and heats the sheet within a controlled processing window. Stable sheet width, thickness and flatness help reduce uneven forming and scrap.
3. Forming, Cutting and Stacking
A three-station thermoforming machine runs separate forming, cutting and stacking stations in sequence. Positive pressure and vacuum are matched to the product shape, detail and mold.
4. Scrap Handling and Packing
Edge trim and suitable production scrap can be collected for project-specific recycling. Finished products then move to inspection, counting and packing according to the factory plan.
Buy Only What Your Project Needs
| Buyer Situation | Practical Starting Configuration |
|---|---|
| Buyer purchases finished sheet | Three-station thermoforming machine + matched mold + required cooling, vacuum and compressed-air systems + scrap handling and packing as required |
| Buyer wants raw material to finished containers | Sheet extrusion line + three-station thermoforming machine + mold + utilities + scrap recycling + downstream packing as required |
| Buyer already owns auxiliary equipment | Check technical capacity and compatibility, then supply only the missing equipment instead of forcing a complete bundle |

Buyer FAQ
Do I need a sheet extrusion line?
Not always. A buyer can purchase finished thermoforming sheet. An in-house sheet extrusion line is evaluated when the factory wants more control over sheet supply, thickness, material cost and production integration.
What does a complete food container thermoforming line include?
A typical raw-material-to-container project can include a sheet extrusion line, three-station thermoforming machine, custom mold, stacking, scrap handling, cooling, vacuum, compressed air and packing support. Final equipment depends on the actual product and factory.
Which materials can the line process?
PP, PET, PS, HIPS, PLA and PVC can be evaluated for applicable projects. Final suitability depends on the selected extrusion and thermoforming configuration, sheet quality, mold, product geometry and process requirements.
How do I choose the thermoforming machine?
Start with the finished product. Provide its length, width, depth, material, sheet thickness, target output and mold layout. Forming area and machine direction should be selected only after these details are checked.
Are more mold cavities always better?
No. More cavities can increase pieces per cycle, but heating, forming, cutting, stacking and sheet behavior must remain stable. The mold layout should be evaluated together with the machine and target product.
Can existing auxiliary equipment be reused?
Yes, if its technical capacity and compatibility meet the selected machine and process. WEIXIN can check existing cooling, compressed-air, vacuum and scrap-handling equipment before recommending only the missing items.
Need a Thermoforming Production Line Plan?
Send your product photo, dimensions, material, sheet thickness and output target. WEIXIN will check the sheet extrusion line, thermoforming machine, mold and auxiliary equipment as one project.
